Discover your Wounds

You’ve got parts of you carrying pain you didn’t have time to deal with—failure, grief, shame, exhaustion. You pushed it aside because people were counting on you. That pain doesn’t disappear; it just waits. Eventually, it starts showing up in ways that don’t make sense.

Identify your Protectors

Other parts of you stepped up to keep you functioning. They learned to stay busy, stay guarded, stay in control. They helped you succeed—and they’re tired. In counseling, we don’t strip that away. We help you understand what it’s protecting and when it no longer has to work so hard.

Reconnect to Your True Self.

Beneath all of that is something solid—the God-image in you. Calm. Capable. Present. It hasn’t been erased, even if it’s been distorted by pressure and pain. Healing isn’t about inventing a new self, but about restoring and strengthening who you were always meant to be.

About the Therapist

Hello, my name is Matt Lee and I’m here to help.

I am a licensed counselor in Kansas with over twenty years of experience walking with people through pressure, leadership, and relational strain—as a pastor, higher-education professional, and now as a clinician. I specialize in working with men in demanding roles when stress, disconnection, or crisis begin to take a toll.

My work helps men slow things down, make sense of what’s happening beneath the surface, and restore connection in their marriages and families. Whether you’re seeking marriage enrichment, navigating affair recovery, or addressing family dynamics shaped by chronic stress, counseling provides a steady space to do this work with clarity and care.

I take a client-centered, integrated approach—listening carefully to your story and what you want to change. We begin by stabilizing what feels overwhelming, then address underlying patterns and pain, and finally focus on rebuilding with practices that support your long-term health and the health of the people who depend on you.

If you’re ready to take a thoughtful step forward, I offer a free 15-minute consultation to help us determine if we’re a good fit. I’d be glad to talk with you and explore how counseling might support you and your family.
